The Zambia Weekly apologizes the Chairman Finance Bank Zambia, Dr. Rajan Mahtani, for publishing unsubstantiated stories about him in their newspaper.
On 23rd May 2014, two articles headed ‘Did Mahtani forge signatures?’ and ‘The alleged sins of Mahtani,’ were published in the Zambia Weekly. A number of allegations, which are false were reported against Dr. Mahtani in these two articles:
Rajan Mahtani sued the Zambia Weekly for publishing these false allegations against him. Simeza Sanwa & Associates, his lawyer, send a letter of demand to the Editor-In-Chief of the Zambia Weekly in connection with the articles that were published in their newspapers about him.
Recently, the Zambia Weekly, has expressed their satisfaction that the news they published about Dr Rajan Mahtani were wholly unsubstantiated and unfounded. They even expressed their regret and apologies to the Dr Mahtani for the embarrassment and inconvenience that they unintentionally caused to him by publishing those news stories.

- That he forged share transfer forms to secure an interest in Zambezi Portland Cement Limited
- That he presented the forged share transfer forms before the Supreme Court
- That the Supreme Court’s verdict in November 2013 was in favour of him and that of Finsbury Investments Limited, a company of Rajan Mahtani, was based on the same forged share transfer forms.
